Sunset Strip

A favorite spot among locals to enjoy special occasions, spontaneous nights out on the town, and everything in between.

Welcome to Sunset Strip

Hollywood’s hotspot for locals to live, work and play.

The lively, cultural epicenter of Los Angeles can be found along the Sunset Strip. Home to some of the city’s most iconic nightlife venues like The Viper Room and Whisky a Go-Go, the Sunset Strip is a favorite spot among locals to enjoy special occasions, spontaneous nights out on the town, and everything in between. Beyond the history and nightlife of the neighborhood, residential enclaves boast some of the city’s most extravagant homes, built in a variety of architectural styles.

A social spot unlike any other, the Sunset Strip has been the Hollywood playground for all, from low-key locals to celebrities, to high-powered businessmen and women, and more. While the Strip is just as vibrant as it once was at the height of the roaring twenties, residential streets perched above provide peace and privacy away from the nightlife scene, providing a well-balanced lifestyle for residents from all walks of life.

What to Love

  • The cultural heart of western Los Angeles is home to famous bars, clubs, and performance venues
  • Dozens of trendy restaurants, old-fashioned diners, and cozy cafes
  • Close to several spas, salons, gyms, and other businesses
  • Perfectly situated between Hollywood and Beverly Hills

Local Lifestyle

The Sunset Strip is a favorite spot among locals for brunch, shopping, nights out, and anything in between. The Strip in particular is home to several rooftop bars, all of which offer panoramic views of the city, the hills, and Southern California’s endless blue skies. Days are casual and evenings buzzy, with the Strip truly coming alive after sunset. Recently, several new condominium complexes have been constructed in close proximity to many of the area’s top hotspots, but some of LA’s most opulent homes can be found just north of Sunset. This party spot definitely doesn’t get enough recognition for its more quiet enclaves, which are plentiful, truly offering the best of both worlds to those who call the Strip home.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Some of LA’s best-known entertainment establishments can be found along Sunset. High-end shopping, casual cafes, and eclectic shops are positioned side-by-side, as are plenty of other recreational activities.

BOA Steakhouse is one of the best spots to celebrate a special occasion. Filets, lobster tails, crabcakes, and Caesar salads are some of their steakhouse classics which are done exceptionally well, while the lobster mac and cheese, crab and black truffle gnocchi, and goat cheese baklava are more unique menu additions, all of which are enjoyed in a glamorous dining room and frequently paired with a delectable offering from a creative dessert menu.

Nearby, Sunset Plaza is an expansive shopping experience consisting of boutiques, spas, salons, restaurants, gyms, and other businesses, of both local and nationally recognized brands. Located adjacent to the plaza, some of LA’s most coveted dinner reservations can be found at Craig’s, SUR, Gracias Madre, and Catch LA.

At sundown, the Strip comes to life where locals can be seen letting loose any night of the week at a nightclub or enjoying a live performance. Two of LA’s most iconic clubs are found right on the strip at The Viper Room and Whisky a Go-Go. Modeled after Harlem’s jazz clubs of the roaring 20s, The Viper Room has been a neighborhood icon since its opening in 1993. Whisky a Go-Go has long been the famous, gritting discovery spot for some of the best-known names in the world like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Mötley Crüe, and countless others.

Things to Do

While the Sunset Strip may be one of the city’s most rockin’ spots, plenty of leisurely activities can be enjoyed on a daily basis. A more lowkey shopping experience can be found close by at the Helen Albert Certified Farmers’ Market. Open year-round, rain or shine, patrons of the market can shop for fresh produce, handmade goods, and more, all from local Southern California farms. The Sunset Strip is also less than 15 miles away from Will Rogers State Beach, and a short drive from the vast Franklin Canyon Park, accounting for just two of the several surrounding recreational options.

Schools

While the Sunset Strip is a bustling spot for entertainment and nightlife, local children are still afforded access to some of Los Angeles’ finest schools. Some examples include:
